THOR™ X Voicemail

The Voicemail Service in THOR™ is a full-featured Next Generation Voice Messaging solution which can easily replace any existing legacy VM installation while offering many advanced features, flexible network integration options (traditional infrastructure, virtualized in a private cloud, fully hosted / managed). Among other innovations, a convergent mailbox (mobile / home / office) and advanced Enterprise features including Exchange / Outlook integration are supported. Optional services such as Visual Voicemail, Call Completion and Voice-to-Text can be implemented either stand-alone or bundled with Basic Voicemail. The platform is future-proof, easily expandable and ready for RCS integration. Service creation and customization is easily accomplished by non-developers using the powerful Visual Designer package inherent to THOR™ X.

Visual Voicemail

THOR™ X Visual Voicemail makes old-style IVR-based and cumbersome voicemail solutions obsolete. In the smartphone era, users expect voicemail to be handled like e-mail or text messages, with an inbox listing senders and messages in chronological order and immediate on-demand access to individual messages.

THOR™ Visual Voicemail supports the native VVM clients built into the iPhone and Windows Phone. An advanced white-labeled VVM client for Android smartphones is also available. Even feature phones are supported, with Visual Voicemail delivered via MMS. Visual Voicemail is future-proof and supports SMS or IP-push notification, as well as RCS integration.

As other THOR™ X services, Visual Voicemail can be provided as a standard infrastructure installation, virtualized in a private cloud or as a fully hosted and managed cloud service.

Call Completion

THOR™ X offers advanced Call Completion packages and options, either stand-alone or bundled with Voicemail and / or Voice-to-Text.

Call Completion basically boosts the share of completed voice calls in the overall call traffic by providing convenient options to callers when a call cannot be directly connected. Increased call completion rates, in turn, can dramatically improve carrier profitability due to interconnection fees and other monetization mechanisms.

A classic voicemail can be a “dead end” service, with leaving a message or hanging up as the only caller options; the caller has no knowledge if and when the message is retrieved.

Call Completion, in combination with Instant Voicemail offers dynamic choices to the caller, such as:

  • Send a request to be called back (Notify B)
  • Get a message when user is available again (Notify A)
  • Leave a message that is immediately delivered via MMS or an SMS link with a one-click playback option (Instant Voicemail)

Call Completion can be further enhanced by a combination with the powerful Voice-to-Text capabilities of THOR™

THOR™ is tightly integrated with the hosted and globally available transcription services from Speech Design´s strategic partner, Nuance Communications (Nuance). Nuance is the acclaimed world leader in ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) and TTS (Text-to-Speech) technologies. Voice-to-Text is currently available in 8 languages, with additional ones under development according to market needs.

In cooperation with Nuance, Speech Design offers a series of advanced, transcription-enhanced Voicemail, Visual Voicemail and Call Completions services:

  • Missed Call Messenger, a mass-market service for non-voicemail users:
callers can leave short voice messages that are transcribed and delivered as an SMS with one-click call back or text back options
  • Advanced Voicemail Alerts:
a voicemail “preview” service; callers leave a full voicemail and the first 5-10 seconds are transcribed and delivered as an SMS with one-click call back, text back or full playback options
  • Full Voicemail Transcription (often a premium service):
transcription of the complete voicemail, delivered as SMS with one-click call back and text back options

Advanced Visual Voicemail clients are also available, integrating Visual Voicemail and Voice-to-Text functions for an optimized user experience. The user can conveniently and intuitively switch between listening to voice messages and reading them as text. Responding by voice (transcribed and texted back), text or call is offered dynamically for every message.
